Facing north, you see a nice view of the two obelisks shown in the previous photo. Here you can get an appreciation for the immense size of Queen Hatshepsut's obelisk compared to that of Thutmose III. This photo was taken, standing within the First Court which lies between the main portion of the temple and the extension of pylons and courts which lead to the avenue of the Sphinx behind me towards the Temple of Luxor. To my right is the broken obelisk, which all that remains of the second obelisk of Hatshepsut and the sacred lake. Both are featured within this gallery, so you will get to see them soon.
