This photo was taken from the first court facing south. Here we see what remains of the seventh pylon with the eighth and ninth pylons behind it. It was in the left portion of this picture that many hundreds of statues and artifacts were found, apparently buried hastily, in a successful attempt to hide them from the reach of invading armies.
